National Trade Union Federation Pakistan condemn killing of foreign touristsJune 24, 2013
Karachi: Nasir Mansoor, Deputy General Secretary of National Trade Union Federation Pakistan (NTUF) has strongly condemned the killing of 10 foreign mountain climbers and a local guide worker at base camp for Nanga Parbat expedition.
The attack has again proved total failure of state security forces who failed to check the infiltration of terrorist into most protected and difficult to reach areas. “In this way it has proved that there is no point in Pakistan which is out of the reach of terrorists. The whole country is besieged by the terrorists who hit the target with their own choice.”
The recent attack has also given the message to whole world that in Pakistan from coasts of Arabian Sea to the valleys of Himalaya and Hindukash no body’s life is safe from the extremists, he said in a statement on Monday.
One most negative impact of this gruesome incident is that it discourages tourists including mountaineers to visit tourist spots, which as a result is fatal blow to already dying tourism industry with which millions of workers’ economic lives are directly or indirectly attached.
“We on behalf of Pakistani working class show our deep sorrow and sympathy with the families of deceased mountaineers from China, Ukraine, Lithuania, Slovakia and Nepal. We declare it most cowardly act against peaceful unarmed innocent human beings by the forces of darkness that have no respect for humanity and centuries-old rich tradition of region to protect, respect and honour the guests.
“We demand from government to arrest the culprits and stern action must be taken against them. We also demand that an independent commission would be formed to ascertain the sinister motives behind the attack,” he said.
