No political interference will be tolerated in the education system, MinisterJune 20, 2013
Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Muhammad Atif has said that no political interference will be tolerated in the education system and all the decisions will be taken on the basis of merit.
These views were expressed by him while receiving a departmental briefing from Secretary Education Schools and Literacy Muhammad Humayun Khan in his office on Thursday. Officials of the concerned departments were also present on the occasion.
The minister said the provincial government was going to prepare a transparent, clear and viable education policy with a view to bring improvement in the education sector.
He said that they would work for providing better environment in the educational institutions and would try to achieve their desired goal necessary for building up of a well educated society in the province.
The minister education said that the schools showing good results in the recently held metric examination would be awarded so that the teacher community could be encouraged and enabled to exhibit good results in the future.
He said the present era was an era of information technology and revolutionary steps would be taken for computerization of the education department and providing other I.T related facilities to the teachers and students as well.
Atif said that Parents – Teachers Council PTC would be further motivated and would make more powerful to get far-reaching effects in the education sector.
He said challenges in the education sector would be handled with the help of local community and called upon the people to identify the non availability of basic necessities and facilities.
He disclosed that the problems of teaching community would also be solved on priority basis, merit would be maintained in the postings and transfers of teachers and for this purpose a policy would be made in which every kind of political interference would be banned.
