Non-disbribution of books among children: Khuhro seeks clarification from STBB, Director Schools

RATODERO: Senior Sindh Education Minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro on Monday sought clarification from Sindh Text Book Board (STBB) and Director Schools of Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur and Larkana Divisisions for not distributing free text book among children under Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Scheme within three days and ordered probe into it.

This was informed by Khuhro while talking to media at his Larkana residence on Monday. He said that Sindh Text Book Board (STBB) is responsible to publish books and deliver them to schools through DEOs by April. STBB now should clarify that how much book it has got published and how much book were demanded by DEOs, and how much books were provided to them, Khuhro further informed. He said that DEOs should send clarification reports to him within three days with proofs of books distribution in videos.

RATODERO: Sindh’s senior Minister for Education, Nisar Khuhro, has ordered an inquiry against the complaints of non-distribution of text books free of cost among the enrolled students under Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Scheme He has directed Sindh Text Book Board and five Directors Schools of Education to submit detailed report within three days.

He was talking to media at his residence in Larkana on Monday. Khuhro said that the officers of STBT were bound to get the requisite books printed in April and the same were to be distributed among the students of the schools in the province through relevant District Education Officers.

He further directed all Directors of Education in Sinh, including Larkana,, Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur and Mirpurkhas ,to send photographic evidences that the books had been distributed among the students of their respective schools free of cost. The minister appealed to the parents of the students not to pay a single penny to the teachers at all and if they are forced to pay or denied the books then his office may be informed on telephone No: 021-99222848.

Khuhro further said that it is the basic right of the child to get education and the government is bound to provide the required facilities. The minister warned the education officers that if any child is deprived of the free book facility then he will take stern action against the officer concerned without considering his status and loyalties.
