OIC approves 49 development and educational projects in member states.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), represented by the Islamic Solidarity Fund (ISF), approved financial assistance for development and education projects in some member states over the period from March 2018 to mid-November 2018, with a total amount of $3.070 million.

OIC Secretary General Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen affirmed that the approved assistance falls in the framework of implementing the resolution of the 60th session of the ISF Permanent Council. He added that the assistance reflects the solidarity of the Organization and its support for the efforts aimed at achieving sustainable and inclusive human development and economic well-being of citizens of the OIC member states.

Al-Othaimeen said that the OIC is working on everything that serves Muslims worldwide in those sectors, and develops their abilities in social, economic, educational and cultural fields. He indicated that the past six months witnessed the delivery of 49 projects covering the educational, health, social and university sectors.

This assistance covered six universities, 13 projects for the African Group and 30 projects for the Arab Group, including 25 development and education projects for Palestine.

The secretary general confirmed that specialized teams from the Islamic Solidarity Fund conducted ground visits to those projects to inspect them and ensure their implementation.
