OIC condemns terrorist attack on police checkpoint in Egypt

Jeddah (IINA) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Giza Governorate, Egypt on Friday, targeting a police checkpoint, killing five police officers.

In this regard, the OIC Secretary General Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen denounced this cowardly act, stressing that the OIC stands by Egypt and supports it in the face of terrorism and extremism. He also expressed profound sympathy and condolences to the bereaved families of the victims as well as to the Egyptian government and people, offering his prayers for speedy recovery to the injured.

The secretary general reiterated the OIC’s firm and principled position against all forms and manifestations of terrorism, indicating that terrorism has become one of the most serious threats to international peace and security and that all terrorist acts are criminal and unjustifiable regardless of their motivation, wherever, whenever and by whomsoever committed.
