OIC congratulates Iraq on the liberation of Tal Afar

Jeddah, (IINA) – Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen congratulated President of the Republic of Iraq Fuad Masum and Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on the recapture of the northern city of Tal Afar from ISIS terrorist organization.

He affirmed the OIC’s support for the efforts of the Iraqi government in fighting terror organizations and combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

Al-Othaimeen also reaffirmed the OIC’s support for the Iraqi government in its endeavors to liberate the Iraqi cities from the control of ISIS and lay the foundations of peace and security all over the country.

The secretary general emphasized the need to fully commit to Iraq’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, highlighting the OIC’s resolve to continue to coordinate with the Iraqi government towards holding Baghdad national reconciliation conference (Makkah 2) out of its keenness to achieve peace and stability in Iraq.
