OIC-IPHRC to organize debate on importance of cultural diversity Tuesday

Jeddah (OIC-UNA) � The OIC’s Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) will hold on Tuesday an open debate on the importance of cultural diversity in the promotion and protection of human rights.

OIC Secretary General Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen and IPHRC Chairman Med S.K. Kaggwa will open the debate in the presence of experts from relevant international and regional organizations as well as representatives from the OIC member states and observers, including their national human rights institutions.

The debate comes within the IPHRC’s 12th Regular Session, which began its activities on Sunday at the Commission headquarters in Jeddah with the participation of representatives from the OIC member states and observers. The session will be concluded on November 23.
