Jeddah The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the dangerous measures taken by the Israeli occupation authorities in Al-Aqsa Mosque and its gates, including the Israeli court’s null and illegal decision to extend the closure of Bab al-Rahma area.

The Organization considered the decision a violation of international law, international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions. It asserted that the occupied city of East Jerusalem, the capital of the State of Palestine, is part of the Palestinian land occupied in 1967 and it does not fall within the jurisdiction of the Israeli judiciary, and that all actions by Israel the occupying power are null and void under the relevant resolutions of international legitimacy.

The OIC added that Jerusalem and its holy places are of particular importance and status to all Muslims and are closely linked to the establishment of security and stability in the region as a whole. It also held Israel full responsibility for the repercussions of such unacceptable and condemnable actions.

The pan Islamic body further called on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to act immediately to stop the ongoing Israeli attacks against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
