Ramallah (IINA) The recent Israeli measures in Jerusalem, including the campaign of demolition notices in Al Bustan and Sheikh Jarrah neighborhoods, are a prelude to completely demolish the area in favor of settlements, warned Ambassador Ahmed Al-Ruweidi, representative of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in the State of Palestine.

Speaking to Voice of Palestine (VOP) on Sunday, Al-Raweidi said that Israel is trying to speed up the pace of events in East Jerusalem in order to impose a new fait accompli, establish about 250 new settlement units in the area and implement other settlement projects in the city.

The OIC representative stressed the need to act on several levels, with aim of addressing the Israeli measures politically and legally, and in support of Jerusalemites’ resilience to stay in their land.
