Ombudsman office to introduce video conferencing

HYDERABAD: Provincial Secretary to Ombudsman Sindh Muhammad Saleh Ahmed Faruqui has said that the management of provincial ombudsman had planned to introduce modern technology of video conferencing among Ombudsman office, complainants and high officials of relevant departments to expedite the disposal of public complaints.

The scheme in this regard has already been submitted in ADP 201314 and hopefully, it will be approved and implemented in next financial year, he informed while addressing the concluding ceremony of a workshop on ‘Complaints Redressal Mechanism’, organized by Regional Ombudsman Office Hyderabad at a local hotel on last night.

Faruqui directed to Regional Officers of Provincial Ombudsman Offices to adopt triangle approach and coordination between Ombudsman Offices, government departments and civil society so that public grievances could be resolved within shortest possible time.

He said that the awareness among the masses about his organization was very much essential to provide relief to the complainants at maximum level. He said that separate awareness programmes by the head office and regional offices would be arranged for the purpose. He said that in order to have skilled development of human resources his organization had decided to conduct training programmes for officers and officials, and efforts would be made to have recruitment of female staff at each Regional Office. He said that in order to facilitate to the complainants, the correspondence would be made with them in same language in which they lodged their complaints.

Terming the workshop as fruitful and result oriented, he said that all the recommendations and suggestions passed in the workshop would be implemented accordingly. He assured the officers and NGOs working with the Provincial Ombudsman for
providing administrative justice to the complainants that full administrative support would be provided to them to achieve the objectives.

However, he maintained that monitoring of Regional offices and government organizations would also be made to plan future strategy as well. The Director Regional Ombudsman Office Hyderabad Muhammad Akram Saeed who was also the host of workshop expressed the vote of thanks as saying that this programme would be proved as instrumental source for the encouragement of the stockholders. He said that such type of programme would be continued in future as well.

Later, Faruqui presented certificates to the participants of workshop. The Advisor to Ombudsman Sindh Muhammad Zakir and other officers of Provincial Ombudsman and its Regional offices also attended the workshop.
