Pakistan and Iran enjoy better relationship, Shaukat YousafzaiJuly 23, 2013
Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Health and spokesman of the provincial government Shaukat Ali Yousafzai, has stated that Iran is our close neighbour and their existed exemplary relations between the two countries which will go further as time passes by.
This he said during a meeting with the Iranian Counsel General Hassan Darwaish which called on him at his office in Peshawar on Tuesday.
The minister said Iran was a country which had not yet compromised on principles and in spite of the global sanctions its exemplary development was worth following for the Muslim Ummah.
Both the leaders exchanged ideas on matters of mutual interests and discussed ways and means for bilateral cooperation and exchange of delegations in the education, health and tourism. The leaders agreed on extending mutual coordination between both the countries.
The minister said that constructive and promising results would be carried out with mutual cooperation in different sectors. He said the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was ready to extend cooperation to Iran in any of the social sectors.
He said geographically they were living in such a part of the globe which took both the states to go in close ties with each other. He said it was in the manifesto of the PTI government that close and better relationship would be extended to the neighbour countries and it was their cardiac desire to develop better ties with all the countries so that peace and tranquillity could be maintained in the region.
Referring to priorities of the PTI provincial government, Shoukat Ali Yousafzai said that for the first time in the history of the province such type of government had come into power which reflected public thinking and was sincere in the welfare of the masses.
He said unluckily in the past lofty promises had been made with the people but nothing practically was done for them. However, he said the PTI government, which had come into power with a big people mandate for change, would fulfil all the promises made with the people.
He said for ensuring exemplary and corruption free government in the province, working groups had been established in all the sectors which would finalize their recommendations till July 25.
The provincial minister stated that establishment of peace was a great need of this region and that was why all their attention had been diverted to this important issue as when there was no peace to march forwards was a far cry.
Shoukat Yousafzai said to make the local bodies strong and autonomous administratively and financially, the powers were being transferred to the gross root level and financially and administratively strong village councils were being established that would have the authority to make recruitments besides carrying out developmental work.
He said by this way the corruption menace would be eliminated and eGovernance would be introduced for better management.
Regarding reforms in the health and education sectors, the minister health said within the next two months the patients would be given free medical cover in all the hospitals of the province.
He said from the next year equal academic standard would be introduced in the province in which children of the poor and rich would equally get proper education.
