Parleys under way to finalize name of next Sindh CM

KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarian PPP after getting majority in Sindh has begun parleys to finalize the name of coming chief minister of Sindh and in this regard they have decided to accept the Muttahida Qaumi Movement MQM as coalition government partner.

Though there are rumours in the political circles that Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani might be the next Sindh chief minister; however, party sources say the process of consultation was under way and no name was finalized as yet.

PPP Information Secretary Karachi Division Latif Mughal, when contacted, said that the names of Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani, Nisar Khuhro, former Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah and Owais Muzaffar are under consideration. He accepted that there is a general perception that Hazar Khan Bijarani was amongst the favorite candidates.

He said that they would establish a committee which would decide about the names of speaker and deputy speaker Sindh assembly and other related matters.

Mughal said that all political parties having mandate in Sindh would be welcomed in the proposed collation government.

As per unofficial results the PPPP has won 68 provincial seats in Sindh, while MQM won 23, Pakistan Muslim League F 6, National People’s Party 3, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz 2 and two independent candidates have also succeeded in general elections 2013.

PPPP sources said that all political parties have some complaints about rigging in Karachi polls, adding if all these parties decided to go to the Supreme Court the PPPP would also collaborate with them.
