Party based LB Polls: Provincial MinisterAugust 20, 2013
QUETTA: Provincial Minister and Parliamentary leader of Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party PMAP Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal has said local bodies polls would be held in Balochistan on party basis.
This was stated by him while addressing a Press conference here Tuesday. He said Punjab Government has announced to hold LB Polls on non party basis but these elections would be held on party basis in our province. He said deteriorated law and order situation is confronting whole of country but Khyber Pashtoonkhwa and Balochistan provinces are much affected. Government was very serious to find out solution to problem. People have pinned high hopes in the new government.
Three party coalitions cannot resolve problems of 35 years overnight. But it is committed such departments which are not active should be made to work normally. Government would bind government employees form civil secretariat, hospital, offices to perform their duty and no compromise would be made in this regard. At some places doctors and deputy commissioners were placed under suspension. It is to bound employees to follow rules and regulations with ease. Later tough measures can be adopted.
Ziaratwal said he read the PSDP of 10 years but not more than 1 or two percent funds were earmarked for schools. Government in office has allocated 24 percent for Education and 11 percent for health and 15 percent has been set aside for production sector because price spiral and employment is linked to production. If production is higher employment would be higher and price spiral would decrease.
He said bureaucracy is servant of people and would serve them as helpers. Government in office believes in democracy because no other option is there except this. We are working to tolerate criticism and making ourselves answerable. He aid in democracy there are Opposition and Treasury But here people have meaning of democracy no one should criticize them.
Answering a question he said on Aug 22 we would stop thappa instead of thappa marking. He aid Election Commission is a autonomous institution. None has right to interfere into its matter. However improving law and order situation and providing security is responsibility of the government which would be fulfilled.
He said QESCO officials have assured collapsed towers would be repaired by tomorrow.
