PCB appoints Zakir Khan as manager for Asia Cup

Karachi: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday announced the appointment of Zakir Khan as team-manager for the upcoming ACC Asia Cup 2014 and ICC World Twenty-20 to be played in Bangladesh.

Zakir Khan, who has been serving as PCB’s Director Cricket Operations International, will be replacing former skipper Moin Khan from the post.

After the restoration of chairman Zaka Ashraf by the Islamabad High Court last month, this is the second major decision taken by the board. Recently former skipper Aamir Sohail has been appointed as chief selector and Director Game Development.

In January, the PCB had advertised vacancies for coaches for the national team besides forming a committee to hunt the best candidates for the slots, a consultancy plan for the 2015 World Cup was also revealed.
