Photo exhibition on Iqbal anniversary

Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Arts Council RAC on Sunday organized an exhibition of unique photographs of Allama Muhammad Iqbal in connection with the death anniversary of the poet of East on April 21.

Over 70 photographs, depicting various aspects of the life of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, displayed at the exhibition attracted a large number of the people from all walks of life including students of various educational institutions of the twin cities. Students took keen interest in the photographs of Allama Iqbal about his personal life and those taken during roundtable conferences in London and visits of Allama Iqbal to Afghanistan. The photographs displayed at the exhibition not only show the contribution of Allama Iqbal to the Pakistan Movement, but have also recorded the history.

Speaking on the occasion, RAC Resident Director Waqar Ahmed said the exhibition gives a glimpse of the personal life of Allama Iqbal and the Pakistan Movement. He said the basic objective of holding this exhibition is to introduce Pakistan Movement’s leaders to the youth so that they could realize their contribution to the creation of Pakistan.

“The presence of students during the exhibition show that the art council has succeeded in its efforts,” Waqar Ahmed said.

Teachers and students, who visited the exhibition, said they have not seen before the photographs showcased at the exhibition.
