PMA condemns kidnapping of Dr Shamsuddin Shaikh’ son

Karachi: Pakistan Medical Association PMA Centre and Karachi on Monday strongly condemned the Kidnapping of a teenage boy Shujauddin 13, the youngest son of Prof Dr Shamsuddin Shaikh Director of Academic and the Dean faculty of Medicine at the People’s University of Medical and Health Sciences, Nawabshah.

An emergency meeting of PMA was held at PMA House Karachi which was presided over by Prof S Tipu Sultan, Immediate Past President PMA Centre. The meeting was attended by Dr Mirza Ali Azhar, Dr SM Qaisar Sajjad, Dr Idrees Adhi President PMA Karachi, Dr Qazi M Wasiq, Dr Ahmed Bhimani, Dr Hamid Manzoor, Dr Khalil Mukaddam, Dr Aziz Khan Tank, Dr Naseer Baloch, Dr Usman Ghani, Dr Najam Feroz Mehmoodi and many other senior members of the organization.

The kidnapped child was later recovered and the suspects were arrested. It was an agonizing experience for parents and the family of Shujauddin Shaikh.

PMA showed concern over the incident. PMA hoped that the newly elected provincial government that they will overcome the law & order situation and will provide security to both the masses and the doctors. The fresh wave of kidnapping of the son of a doctor proved that the government of Sindh had failed to provide security to the doctors and their families.

PMA demanded of the authorities concerned that the culprits involved in the kidnapping of the son of Prof Dr Shamsuddin Shaikh should be dealt with an iron hand and further demanded for exemplary punishment to all the criminals involved in these crimes.
