Police launches massive crackdown against bricks kilns

Sialkot: The district police Sialkot on Wednesday launched a massive crackdown against bricks kilns in Sialkot district to check and detect any sort of the forced labour there in the bricks kilns.

The police have registered as many as 247 separate cases against accused owners of the local bricks kilns under Bonded Labour System Act 12, 1992 on the charges of taking the forced labour and bonded labour. Additional SP Sialkot Asad Sarfraz Khan disclosed this while talking to the media persons He said that crack down will continue for the next couple of days to ensure the eradication of labour at the bricks kilns in Sialkot district, in this regard.

He revealed that special police teams led by DPO Sialkot Muhammad Gohar Nafees, today, raided at almost all the bricks kilns in Sialkot district’s all the Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils under the supervision of the local DSPs. The police teams inspected the bricks kilns thoroughly in a bid to detect any sort of forced labour there by the labourers.
