Political activist amongst five dead in the citySeptember 6, 2013
Karachi: Five people, including local leader of Awami National Party (ANP) were killed in the different areas of the city on Friday.
A 35-years-old man, Qasim, son of Usman, was gunned down by unidentified armed men in Yousuf Goth, Saeedabad, Baldia Town, within the remit of Saeedabad police station. The body was moved to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities.
Saeedabad police said victim was sitting in a hotel when incident took place. Police said Qasim was transporter by profession and he might be killed over some personal enmity as he had disputed with someone a day ago. Police have started investigation to ascertain the facts behind his murder.
Separately, a political activist, Lal Darweesh Khan 35, son of Sakhi Darweesh, was shot dead by unknown assailants in Orangi Town No 4, within the jurisdiction of Peerabad police station. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for an autopsy.
SHO Peerabad police station Abdul Moeed said victim was local leader of Awami National Party (ANP). He said Lal Darweesh received two bullets on his upper torso and died before he could be taken to hospital.
An unknown drug addict, 25, died due to overdose in Sadder, near Jahangir Park. The body was shifted to morgue.
A two days old body of an unknown person was recovered from a drain near Quaidabad flyover. It was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JMC) for autopsy.
Skelton of an unknown person was found from Korangi No. 1- ½. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JMC) for autopsy.
