Politics: Increased Electricity generation would help lessen load shedding: Dr. Musaddaq Malik

Islamabad: Minister for Water and Power Dr. Musaddaq Malik has said that electricity generation has increased to about 11000 MW as of today due to steps taken by the caretaker government which would help lessen the load shedding in the country.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Monday afternoon‚ he said that on the directive of Prime Minister the Ministry of Finance will release 22.5 billion rupees today which would help further ease the situation. He said that after the release of amount‚ fuel supply chain which was suspended will be restored.

The Minister said that it is the effort of the government to generate over 12000 MW of electricity to give relief to the masses. Dr. Musaddaq said that out of 22.5 billion rupees‚ fifteen billion rupees will be paid to PSO while the rest of the amount will be spent to make the closed plants functional.
