President urges for cooperation to cope with common challenges

President Dr. Arif Alvi has emphasized on cooperation among politicians in the world to address the common challenges such as global warming, inequality, xenophobia and Islamophobia.

He was addressing the fifth Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Asia Regional Conference 2019 in Islamabad on Tuesday.

The President he said there is tremendous inequality in the world, and governments have a responsibility to respond to this issue.

The President said corporations need to be fair to their employees, customers, community, environment and the next generations. He said unless fairness is implemented, there will remain two ways. He said governments are responsible for equalizing societies.

He said poverty, education, health, and inequality are important problems in South Asia.

He said in a vibrant democracy, problems are first recognized then fenced and then resolved through implementation of laws. He said implementation of laws is as important as their legislation.
