Process of peace talks shall continue to ensure everlasting peace in region, MinisterFebruary 25, 2014
Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Public Relations, Shah Farman has said that the process of peace talks shall continue to ensure everlasting peace in the region as the use of power has never solved problems. He said the government of PTI since its establishment believed in peace talks.
He expressed these views in Peshawar while meeting with Maulana Syed Muhammad Yousaf Shah, Coordinator Tehrik-e-Taliban Peace Talks Committee. Minister Information said that Pakistan was passing through a difficult time, therefore restoration of peace was very much needed.
He said for continuing the peace talks process, sincerity and seriousness was required. He demanded Taliban and government to announce ceasefire for the success of peace talks. He said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had suffered great loss due to terrorism and militancy, therefore, the development and prosperity of the province was linked with peace.
Coordinator Tehrik-e-Taliban Peace Talks Committee Maulana Syed Muhammad Yousaf Shah thanked Shah Farman for supporting the continuation of peace talks with Taliban.
He hoped that peace talks would soon begin and the homeland Pakistan would once against be the most peaceful land. Maulana Yousaf Shah said that the peace talks would take time but its results would be fruitful.
On this occasion both the leaders agreed to hold “Taeed Aman Conference” for supporting peace talks in the first week of March 2014 in Peshawar.
