Islamabad:Unity of the nation in general and business and industrial community in particular is vital for socio-economic development of the country as well as close collaboration among all the chambers of commerce and industry is vital to give boost to economic activities.
Mr.Zafar Bakhtawari, President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) made these remarks while addressing a luncheon meeting in honor of Haji Fazal Qadir Khan Shirani, President FPCCI.
Speaking on the occasion, Haji Fazal Qadir Khan Shirani, President FPCCI said that the economy of Pakistan was facing multiple challenges including energy crisis, hefty decline in investment, law & order problems and many other core problems. He stressed that government should address these problems on priority for creating better business environment in the country.
He said that Chambers and associations must strengthen the hands of FPCCI so that this apex business body could play more effective in resolving businessmen problems. He also lauded the role of ICCI, especially for the development of young entrepreneurs and women empowerment.
Mr.Zafar Bakhtawari, President ICCI said that consistency in policies and their proper implementation helps the investors and businessmen to make long term business strategies, which ultimately helps the country to attract investment and achieve better economic growth.
Mr.Bakhtawari informed the meeting that Mr.Zubair Ahmed Malik, former president of ICCI is a strong candidate for presidency of Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI). He asked the business leaders to support him as Mr.Malik’s efforts and vision for the welfare of business community and industrial development of the country are indeed creditable and commendable.
Mr.Shakeel Dingra, Vice President FPCCI, Mr.Zubair Tufail, Former Vice President FPCCI, Mirza Abdul Rehman, Vice President FPCCI, Mr.Munawar Mughal, Former President ICCI and Mr.Atta Bajwa were also present on the occasion.
