Punjab government urged to declare Pasrur Tehsil as calamity hit area

Sialkot: The hundreds of the flood affected farmers, growers and people belonging to Pasrur tehsil have urged Punjab government to declare all the Pasrur tehsil’s flooded villages as calamity hit areas.

In an important meeting held at floodhit village Chahoor, in Pasrur tehsil on Monday the flood affected farmers and growers including Muhammad Bashir, Khalid Mehmood, Muhammad Iqbal Gujjar, Muhammad Sadique , Allah Rakha, Ghulam Hussain, Allah Ditta, Chaudhary Nasir Mehmood, Ghulam Sarwar Bagari , Suleman Ghumman and Zafar Iqbal Cheema said that the recent flash floods in Naullah Dek has badly damaged their standing seasonal crops on thousands of acres of land in Pasrur tehsil here during the last two weeks, as they were totally dependent on their seasonal crops.

They added that they were totally at the mercy of the Naullah Dek there and were unable to pay Abiyana, Maliyana and other agricultural taxes to the government.
