Quetta valley continues to shiver under freezing spell

QUETTA: Quetta valley and major parts of Balochistan remained in grip of severe cold weather for the last over one week paralyzing life. Minimum temperature fell to minus 12 Celsius in Quetta, minus 16 in Kalat and minus 9 centigrade in Dalbandin Tuesday.

According to records, such a severe cold was recorded in December 1974 and minimum temperature had fallen to minus 14 Celsius.

With this shivering cold gas pressure has been disappeared in various parts of metropolis and load shedding of electricity continued side by side. Water freezed in tanks and pipelines creating great difficulties for the people. Met office has forecast cold and dry weather during the coming 24 hours.
