RAC organises colourful program

Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Arts Council organized a colourful program to mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities in collaboration with Special Education Department and Kaus-e-Kazah Organization for Special Children here on Tuesday.

Member National Assembly Malik Abrar was the chief guest flanked by DO Special Education Nusrat Najeeb, President Kaus-e-Kazah Dr Fouzia Mughees, DO MC Schools Ch Shahbaz and Resident Director RAC Waqar Ahmed. 13 institutions of special children along with their heads participated in variety program which made it colourful and impressive.

Addressing at the awards distribution ceremony, Member National Assembly Malik Abrar said that more than 15% of the world’s population consists of people with disabilities and the people with disabilities must not to be labelled as ‘special’ or ‘disabled’. He added that these children are our valuable asset and dignity and respect can help these people better integrate in the society.

Resident Director RAC Waqar Ahmed in his welcome address said that these people should be treated as valuable members of the society. He said International Day of Persons with Disabilities is celebrated at RAC with full zeal and zest. The children presented tableaus, folk songs, poems, speech, folk dances and national songs.
