Samad Mursalin says he would contest election against PTIAugust 19, 2013
Peshawar: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf ideological workers’ group nominated candidate from national assembly constituency NAI Peshawar, Samad Mursaleen has rejected the speculations of quitting the election race, and reiterated his pledge to contest by-polls.
Speaking at a news conference on Monday here at press club, Mr Mursaleen said that he on the request of party ideological workers decided to join the elections race, so it would be quite unfair to quit the race without taking them in confidence, on the dictation of others.
“I will respect only the decision of party ideological workers about taking part in by-elections, and he was going to contest elections because of ideological workers, he said, otherwise, nobody would be wished to take part in the race under present circumstances.
Criticizing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government performance during its last two months, he said that in the last general elections the rulers got mandate on the name of change, but they were failed to bring any positive change during its two months in power.
Mursaleen further said that PTI ideological workers had been disappointed with the poor performance of ruling PTI in KP, because a group of opportunists had taken hold of party matters.
He added that merit policy was not followed even in awarding party tickets, as more than 90 percent workers did opposed the decision of party parliamentary board for awarding party ticket for national assembly constituency NAI Peshawar-I.
“PTI tsunami will no more remain intact, and party ideological workers would soon restore its loosing popularity for its agenda”, he claimed.
Mursaleen alleged that frustrations and disappointment among party ideological workers were widening after each passing day, because of the indifferent attitude of PTI provincial leadership.
He maintained that party had completely ignored the ideological workers which dishearten and discouraged while on other hand the poor performance of PTI led also become reason of concern for them.
