Sardar Yousaf lauds IIROs service for humanity

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf has said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are tied in a bond of brotherhood, religion and history and lauded the role of International Islamic Relief Organization (IIRO) for extending help to the victims of natural calamities in Pakistan to help improve the living conditions of the affectees.

The minister expressed these views while talking to Secretary General IIRO Ehsaan Saleh Taieb and his delegation which met him here.

The minister thanked secretary general IIRO for visiting Pakistan on his invitation and said that the visit will further improve brotherly relations between both the countries.

People are thankful to the government and people of Saudi Arabia who always contribute generously to serve the humanity in Pakistan, he added.

The relief work undertaken by the IIRO for the people affected by floods and earthquake across Pakistan is exemplary. Pakistan and its people are indebted to the funding made by Saudi Arabia, IIRO and its Pakistan office and the Saudi ambassador to Pakistan for the generous and valuable support of disaster-hit people, he added.

The secretary general said IIRO intends to expand its operations in Pakistan from relief work to social sector development including education and health sector. The prime objective of my visit to Pakistan is to expand the relief operations in across Pakistan to further cementing the cherished brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, he added.
