Saudi Arabia: 2.2 million Umrah visas and 1.7 million pilgrims

The number of Umrah visas reached 22,177,28 by 13 Rabee’een for the year 1440H. The total number of visitors to the Kingdom reached 174,5072, while the number of Umrah pilgrims in the Kingdom reached 395933, including 278230 in Makkah While 117703 were in Madinah, while 13,491,339 were registered after performing Umrah and visiting.

This is according to the weekly Umrah Index launched by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah at the beginning of the current Hijri year. It measures four main aspects: the number of Umrah visas issued and the total number of pilgrims coming to the Kingdom via air, land and sea ports, and their numbers in Makkah and Medina. To the number of pilgrims who leave the Kingdom after God has to perform the rituals of ‘Umrah.

The aim of the weekly indicator is to track the movement of visas, arrivals and departures in order to improve the quality of services provided to pilgrims and visitors and to achieve advanced levels of satisfaction among the beneficiaries, in order to achieve one of the most important objectives of the vision of the Kingdom 2030 to receive 30 million pilgrims, Variety of quality and high value
