Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said on Wednesday that Jamal Khashoggi’s incident is very painful to all Saudis and totally unjustifiable, and vowed that those behind this crime will be held accountable.
The incident that happened was painful for all Saudis, and especially because [Khashoggi is] a Saudi citizen, and I believe it’s painful for every person in the world, the crown prince said, adding: It’s a heinous incident, totally unjustified.
Speaking at the Future Investment Initiative (FII) Conference in Riyadh, Mohammed bin Salman said: Today the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is taking all the legal procedures to investigate and complete the investigations in working with the Turkish government to get the results and present those who are responsible to trial.
“Many people are using this painful thing to drive a wedge between Saudi Arabia and Turkey,” he added, stressing that there would be no rift between the two countries as long as their current leaders are alive. We will prove to the world that the two governments are cooperating to punish any criminal and any guilty party, he said.
About the conference, the crown prince said Saudi Arabia has taken huge steps in developing the Saudi economy and restructuring many institutions, adding that it is time to restructure National Security institutions in the Kingdom in order to advance the economic sectors.
