Islamabad: Attorney General Mr Munir A Malik informed the Supreme Court on Thursday that 500 agro farms were constructed against the laws of Capital Development Authority CDA.

He made this statement before a three-judge bench comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry‚ Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja and Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed during the hearing of illegal construction on the land of agro farms in the capital city.

Munir Malik further stated that the residents of these farms had serious reservations regarding the change in the master plan of agro farms.

He assured the court that the government would address people’s grievances strictly on merit.

Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed remarked that it was beyond understanding that people residing on one side of the road were claiming concessions while the other side of people were not pursuing any concession.

The AG maintained that proposals have been forwarded to the prime minister for the approval regarding the agro farms constructions and as soon as the reply from the PM would come they would present all the details before the bench.

Later‚ the bench adjourned further hearing of the case till September 30.
