SCCI rejects hike in power tariff by NepraJune 19, 2013
Sialkot: Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has strongly rejected recent Rs. 1.12 per unit hike in power tariff by Nepra in the name of fuel cost variation. In a press release issued on Wednesday the SCCI President Sheikh Abdul Majid has expressed grave concern over this hike and has termed it as a negative impact for the whole nation at large. He said that already the business men and common masses were suffering from fledgling inflation and instead of providing relief present Government seems to be following footsteps of PPP led Government. SCCI President said that in order to provide relief to the end customers it was imperative that present Government must cut back on line losses and electricity thefts, besides focusing on running WAPDA on more professional basis.
