SHC appoints Nazir to inspect site of amenity plot

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday appointed its Nazir as commissioner to inspect the state of illegal construction being raised on an amenity plot in Model Colony for a park, school and hospital and submit report to the court.

A division bench headed by Justice Irfan Saadat Khan was seized with the hearing of a petition filed by residents of Model Colony, who approached the court against China-cutting on amenity plot in Model Colony for residential and commercial purposes.

The petitioners, Muhammad Mumtaz and others submitted before the court that there was 10-acre land persevered for amenity purposes in Model Colony, where school, hospital, KW&SB s boards installation, which provide water to the colony, are situated.

They told the court that 2acres of amenity plot, reserved for Eidgah, had been illegally allotted to private parties, who had made China-cutting on the plots for residential and commercial purposes. They said that private respondents were raising illegal construction on the amenity plot. They requested the court to restrain illegal construction on the amenity plot.

While allowing petitioner’s application two-judge bench appointed court’s Nazir to inspect the illegal construction being carried out on amenity plots submit report in this regard.
