SHC disposes of petition of Faryal

Karachi: The Sindh High Court SHC on Monday disposed of the petition of President Asif Ali Zardari’s sister Faryal Talpur seeking adequate security, when federal law officer informed the court that Interior Ministry would provide her foolproof security.

Faryal Talpur approached the Sindh High Court seeking it directives to respondents for allowing her to travel in the vehicle having factory manufactured tinted glasses, and also she was allowed to have her own security personnel.

It was stated in the petition that she has to travel all over the country to manage the party’s organizational setup or hold public meetings as she was then National Assembly member and PPP’s women wing president.

Lawyer Akhtar Hussain on behalf of petitioner had told the bench that on September 3, 2009, the National Crises Management Cell director general sent letters to requesting law enforcing agencies to make all possible arrangements for her security during her visits to all provinces. He had said that Talpur and many other political leaders have been receiving threats from extremists.
