SHC grants bail to checking agent who had helped Shahrukh Jatoi escape

Karachi: Sindh High Court SHC on Tuesday granted bail to check in agent, Muhammad Taha Hussain, who had been arrested for helping Shahrukh Jatoi escape from the country using fake travel documents.

A single bench of SHC comprising of Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi approved bail for Muhammad Taha Hussain in sum of Rs0.5million surety.

According to charge sheet submitted by Federal Investigation Agency FIA, Muhammad Taha Hussain, check in agent of a private travel agency had facilitated Shahrukh Jatoi escape by issuing boarding pass under wrongful documentation and manipulating the facts and records.

Suspect Taha had issued a boarding card to suspect Shahrukh despite knowing the fact that no passenger in the name of Syed Shahrukh was travelling. Taha had entered the passport, No AL4101012, into the system with the name of passenger Syed Shahrukh which actually belonged to one namely Muhammad Ali Khan, a resident of Charbagh Serai in Swabi district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Muhammad Taha had been behind the bars since February 13, 2013. He approached the court through his counsel seeking after arrest bail.

The court granted bail against surety of Rs0.5mn through short order, adding reasons to be recovered later.
