SHC grants protective bail in case of non-payment of vehicle duty

KARACHI: Sindh High Court SHC on Thursday granted protective bail to accused in sum of Rs25000 in a case pertaining to possessing non-duty paid vehicle.

SHC single bench comprising Chief Justice Maqbool Baqar granted bail to Muhammad Jurial Rajpar till October 3.

The Customs Anti-smuggling staff Sukkur seized a non-duty paid vehicle Toyota Hiace bearing number plate BMA606Quetta, which was plying in Sukkur city.

Though, the applicant denied charges against him and submitted before the court that he was lawful owner of the vehicle and he had purchased from 3rd owner and had no knowledge about non-payment of duty.

The court without touching the merits of the case granted him bail and directed him to surrender before the trial court.
