SHC issues notices in petition about missing person

Karachi: The Sindh High Court SHC on Tuesday issued notice to secretaries of Interior and Defense ministries, security officials in a petition of missing man allegedly picked up by the agency personnel.

A division bench of SHC headed by Chief Justice Mushir Alam was hearing the petition of Ehsanul Haq, seeking his son Zeeshan’s whereabouts who was taken away by security personnel on April 4.

The petitioner submitted that his son was making movie at roof of his house, situated near Malir Cantt check post as there was marriage ceremony of his elder son on next day, when Zeeshan was taken away.

He said that some vehicles of security personnel were moving on the road near his house, who saw his son making video, adding that they came to his house and asked his son to delete the footages captured by him, which was deleted at that time.

He said that after short time some officials of a security agency came and took away his son. He said that he filed a complaint for release of his son at PAF Base Malir as it was discarded and was confirmed by Major Ehtesham that his son was in their custody.

Citing secretaries of Interior and Defense, commanding officer of military police, Major Ehtesham, Major Usman and Major Amir posted at Malir Cant, Incharge check post Malir and Incharge Federal Investigation Unit FIU as respondents, he prayed the court to direct respondents to produce the detainee before the court.

The court issued notice to respondents.
