SHC moved against disturbing education in LarkanaAugust 26, 2013
RATODERO: A constitutional petition has been filed by lawyer Qadir Bux Bhatti, resident of Kausar Mill, Larkana through his advocate Habibullah G Ghouri in Sindh High Court SHC Circuit Bench, Larkana, against respondents Regional Director Higher Secondary School Larkana, DEOs of Education & Secondary Larkana and Principals of Pilot & Municipal Higher Secondary Schools, and 10 others including Deputy Commissioner, Commissioner, SSP and DIGP, Larkana, Education Secretary, stating that there is some dispute between the elected office-bearers of Teachers Union/Association Larkana with the administration and because of that the teaching staff of the government schools is raising protest against the administration and in retaliation to that, the students of Larkana city ranging from primary to higher secondary level are being returned back home in the morning by the respondents and other schools/colleges, for last 10 days after reopening of the same on August 15.
Petitioner further stated that respondent and other teachers being the office bearers of the teachers union with a view to support one of their colleagues are misusing the school/college going students to take out the processions to create law and order situation in Larkana city and they are blocking the main roads and crossings, resultantly the entire civil life is being disrupted.
The petitioner further stated in the petition that education of students of Larkana are being ruined by the respondents hence the civil society suffers a lot due to nefarious activities on the part of the union/association leaders of education department and respondents have shut their eyes and even no action is being taken against the miscreants who are taking law into their hands and are bent upon to ruin the future of education. The petitioner further stated that electronic and print media also has played its vital role but respondents have failed to pay any heed to the genuine problem of this part of the country.
The petitioner has prayed to the court to order the respondents to ensure complete school timings and provide proper education to the students and restrain respondents from closing the schools and colleges and from returning students back home in the morning. The court issued notices to all the respondents and called their comments.
