SHC orders not to withdraw security of ANP leaders

Karachi: The Sindh High Court SHC on Tuesday restrained the provincial government from withdrawing the security provided to leaders of Awami National Party ANP till further orders.

Headed by Chief Justice Mushir Alam, the division bench also issued notice to the respondents and put off the hearing to May 22.

The petitioners Saleem Khan Jadoon and Sarfraz Khan Jadoon belonging to Awami National Party ANP stated through their counsel that provincial government has provided them two policemen each for their protection.

However, they submitted that now provincial government wants to withdraw the policemen. They said that nowadays attacks on the ANP leaders have increased in the city and they were also receiving serious threats.

Citing home secretary, IG Sindh, additional IG and DIG west as respondents, they prayed to court to restrain the government from withdrawing the security.
