SHC puts off hearing of petition seeking removal of IO in Shahzeb murder case

Karachi: The Sindh High Court SHC on Wednesday put off the hearing of a petition seeking removal of investigation officer in the Shahzeb Khan Murder case.

Headed by justice Sajjad Ali Shah, the division bench was seized with the petition filed by Shahrukh Jatoi, prime suspect in murder of 20yearsold Shahzeb Khan.

Shahrukh Jatoi, along with Siraj Talpur, Sajjad Talpur, and their cook Ghulam Murtaza Lashari, have been accused for murdering the 20yearold in his car over a minor dispute near Mubarak Masjid in Phase of the Defence Housing Authority in the early hours of December 25, 2012.

The petitioner represented by advocate Haider Shar submitted that investigation officer Muhammad Mubeen in murder case is found involved in a criminal case viz FIR No. 12/2012, of Anti Corruption Establishment Karachi

He said that IO has received an interim bail granted by Special Judge Anti Corruption Provincial Karachi South. He said that Supreme Court of Pakistan during hearing of suo moto of law and order Karachi case, ordered provincial government to remove all those police officials facing the trials in criminal cases.

However, he added that despite being nominated in FIR, the officer is enjoying posting and no action has yet been taken against him. He prayed to court to direct provincial police chief to appoint another honest and impartial police officer having rank of SP. He prayed the court to issue directives for reinvestigation of murder case.

The hearing was put off till March 26.
