KARACHI: Sindh High Court SHC has sought a complete list of all Matriculation students on August 27, who could not appear in supplementary examinations that began on April 8, 2013 in Karachi.

A division bench, headed by Justice Muneeb Akhtar, was seized with a petition of Mohammad Hussain and Ghulam Farooq, who sought action against a private school situated in Lyari that delayed issuance of admit cards to 149 students of Ninth and Tenth Classes as they could not appear in the examination.

The petitioners had submitted that their children along with other students missed their Matriculation exams, as school administration failed to submit their exam forms at the Board as school clerk Abdul Karim had fled with exam forms and fees Rs142950.

The court had directed the education secretary and the chairperson of BSEK to treat this as a special case and to ensure that the affected students were able to appear for the upcoming supplementary examinations.

During the hearing, the petitioner’s counsel informed the court that in addition to their children who could not appear for examination, there were several other affected students. He requested the court for more time to file a list of all such students who missed their matriculation examinations.

The court directed him to place on record the complete list of all such students and supply copy of list to Board of Secondary Education Karachi BSEK, which would verify same and assist the court.
