Karachi: The Sindh High Court Bar Association has rejected the suggestion of provincial government of shifting car parking from the high court premises to Saddar Parking Plaza.

In a resolution adopted by the managing committee of the SHCBA, bar association said that chief secretary had given a suggestion to SHC chief justice for removal of car parking from the high court premises to Saddar parking plaza, where advocates would park vehicles and shuttle service be started between parking plaza and high court.

It said that this suggestion is not acceptable to association as Saddar car parking plaza was not safe for lawyers, where two firing incidents have been reported eve this week and innocent people murdered. SHCBA said that government was concerned with the security of judges, however, lawyers were being ignored.

SHCBA further said that it would become difficult for lawyers to park their vehicles at Saddar parking plaza and carry heavy files all way to high court. It called upon that passport office adjacent to high court be shifted to other place and office be converted into parking lot for lawyers.
