Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs of Palestine Sheikh Yousef Edeis on Tuesday praised the efforts of Saudi Arabia to embrace the Palestinian pilgrims and to care of them in Makkah and the holy sites to perform the Hajj rituals.

“We extend our gratitude and appreciation to Saudi Arabia that embraces this large number [of pilgrims] from the countries of the world,” Sheikh Edeis said, expressing his respect for the Kingdom for the warm hospitality given to the Palestinian pilgrims.

He confirmed that the batch of the Palestinian martyrs’ relatives, coming to perform this year’s Hajj under the order of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, will arrive in Makkah from the Gaza Strip through Egypt and from the West Bank through Jordan on August 15-16.

Sheikh Edeis noted that the Awqaf staffers and accompanying missions are ready to receive them. He expressed appreciation of Jordan and Egypt for facilitating the procedures for the Palestinian pilgrims to cross into the holy places in Makkah and Madinah.
