Sindh CM directs KWSB to ensure smooth water supply

KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has directed Managing Director Karachi Water & Sewerage Board KWSB Misbahuddin Farid to ensure smooth provision of water supply facility during Ramazanul Mubarak and concerned officers must be instructed to provide water in all areas while special attention must be given to water supply.

On the directives of CM Sindh, Managing Director KWSB has directed all Chief Engineers to take special measures in order to ensure that all areas in the city are provided with ample water supply. Provision of water supply to mosques and imambargahs must especially be ensured during Ramzan to ensure that fasting citizens do not suffer.

Farid issued these directives during a meeting with Deputy Managing Director Technical Services, Chief Engineers and Executive Engineers, held in the light of directives from CM Sindh. He directed all Zonal Chief Engineers, Superintendent Engineers, Executive Engineers to monitor valve operations and ensure provision as per schedule.

Farid further directed that during electricity breakdowns generators must be used to ensure provision of water as per schedule to all areas. Officers must ensure that citizens have ample water in Mosques and Imam Bargahs during Taraweeh for Waddu and other religious duties.

Open manholes around mosques and Imam Bargahs must be covered with manholes to ensure that citizens do not suffer. Sewerage system must be operational in all areas and sewerage pumping stations must be working as per schedule, Farid added.

M.D KW&SB stated that it is our religious, moral and professional duty to ensure provision of facilities to the citizens during Ramadan to attain Allah’s blessings. KWSB is a public service institution and we must not only ensure swift provision of facilities but attend all complaints in timely manner.
