Ratodero, Sindh: The Sindh Government’s Health Department has directed all the District Health Officers and Medical Superintendents to maintain and send daily reports of children admitted, discharged and expired in public & private sector hospitals in their respective jurisdiction.
Sources said in an urgent letter Dr. Saqib Ali Shaikh, Section Officer (PH-IV asked them that in the wake of reported deaths of under 5 year children due to drought situation in Tharparkar & other districts in Sindh, such as Sujawal, Thatta, Umerkot, Sanghar, Badin & Khairpur, the Health Department has taken proactive measures to address the issue.
The letter further added that henceforth a comprehensive details of facility-wise children (under 5 years) being admitted/discharged/expired in public or private sector of every district must be shared on daily basis without fail through email. It further added that daily reporting through SMS may also be done on daily basis.
