Sindh police computerizes record of all arrested criminals from 2010

Karachi: The Crime Record Office (CRO) of CIA police has computerized the record of all the criminals arrested since 2010. The work on computerization of record of criminals arrested in previous years is underway.

The record of any criminal could be found easily from the database by FIR number, police station, and date of registration of case, Section applied or name of the criminal. The fingerprints of criminals are also part of this record.

This information was given to Inspector General of Police, Sindh Shahid Nadeem Baloch during visit to Crime Record Office of Karachi police. He was accompanied by Additional IG Karachi, DIG Technical & Transport, DIG Headquarters, Sindh and other officials.

On this occasion, it was decided to link Crime Record Office of Karachi police to the Provincial Crime Record Office established under Special Branch of Sindh police. The decision was taken to share information for elimination of criminals.

IGP directed to establish CRO terminals initially at the SSP offices in Karachi so that the record of arrested criminals could automatically enter into central database. He called for setting up such terminals at the offices of AVCC, ACLC, SIU and SP Investigation.
