Six killed, seven injured in clash in Khairpur district

Khairpur, Sindh: At least six people were killed and seven others injured in firing between two rival groups of Lashari community over land dispute near Kotdiji on Tuesday.

The clash between two groups of Lashari community started at village Bago Lashari in the jurisdiction of Kotdiji police station. Both groups fired upon each other with sophisticated weapons resulting death of six people including Loung Lashari, Muhammad Ismail Lashari, Gulab Lashari, Barkat Ali Lashari, Mukhtiar Lashari and Ahsan Shaikh. Seven people were injured who were shifted to taluka hospital Kotdiji and civil hospital for treatment where condition of three is said to be serious. The bodies were brought to taluka hospital Kotdiji for legal formalities.

On receiving information a big contingency of police was deployed in the area and situation was brought under control. Over ten people were killed in bloody clashes earlier.
