Six more fall prey to Karachi violence

Karachi: The violence continued unabated in the city on Wednesday claiming life of six people and injuring two others in separate incidents of firing. According to police, one person was killed and two others including a dacoit were injured during a dacoity bid in Korangi Sector F. The dacoits barged into a house in Korangi Sector F and on resistance from inmates killed a man and injured his brother.

The victim was identified as Qaisar Iqbal, 28, son of Iqbal and Nasir Iqbal, 32. A dacoit was also injured during the resistance and was arrested from Korangi Crossing area. He was identified as Khalid,35, son of Sher Mohammad. The body and injured were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).
Rescue sources said that unidentified men opened fire near Crown Cinema at Mauripur Road and killed a man, whose identity is not yet ascertained. He was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for autopsy.

A 28-year-old man, Imran, was gunned down in North Karachi Sector 5-C-2. He was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for postmortem.

In another incident, a 35-year-old man, Raja Pervez, was shot dead in Saleh Mohammad Goth near Shah Latif Town. The body was shifted to JPMC for autopsy.

A mutilated body of a woman was recovered from Khuda ki Bast area of Surjani Town. The body bore marks of torture and her throat was slit with a sharp knife. She was resident of Khuda ki Basti and was identified as 48-year-old Rizwana daughter of Mir Ahmed Siddique. The body was shifted to ASH for autopsy.

A 10-day-old body was recovered from drainage in Macchar Colony. The identity of the 30-year-old deceased was not yet known. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for postmortem.
