Slain DSP laid to rest at Sialkot

Sialkot: Sialkot based slain Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Muhammad Nawaz on Wednesday laid to rest in his native graveyard with complete official honour.

His funeral was held at Police Line Ground Sialkot attended by a large number of the people including senior police officials and newly elected local parliamentarians. His dead body was brought to Sialkot from Chenab Nagar-Chiniot for burial.

DSP Muhammad Nawaz (48), famed as Nawaz PPM was martyred by some unknown dacoits during a bank robbery at Lalian city of Chenab Nagar Tehsil in Chiniot district on Tuesday. He was 48 years old and was Pakistan Police Medal (PPM) award winner due to his bravery in police profession a few years ago. He had left behind a widow, three daughters and a son, who has been studying in UK.

He had served as DSP at Sialkot City, Sambrial, Pasrur, Daska and DSP (Headquarters) in Sialkot and was transferred and posted at Chenab Nagar before the May 11, 2013 general elections.
