Sports: Cricket: Akbar, Waqas knock tons as Zone VI thrashes Zone IV

Karachi: Akbarur Rehman and Mohammad Waqas scored 135 and 102 run knocks respectively and helped KCCA Zone VI beat KCCA Zone IV by an inning and 117 runs in PCB Senior Inter District Three-day Cricket Tournament on second day here at RLCA Ground in Korangi on Sunday.

KCCA Zone VI batted first in the match and put on 4136 declared in 82.4 overs. Muhammad Waqas 102 and allrounder Akbarur Rehman 135 bated well for the side. Fazal Subhan 56, Fakhar Zaman 58 and Babar Agha 50 registered half fifties. Muhammad Bilal captured five wickets for 92 runs.

KCCA Zone IV in their first inning, were all bundled out for 136 runs. After a follow on, Zone IV batting line again for a paltry total of 160 runs. Shahzaib Ahmed Khan captured wickets seven wickets while Junaid Ilyas and Fawad Khan took five wickets each in two innings.
