Sports: Snooker: Pak team loses to Iran in Asian Team Tourney

Karachi: Pakistan snooker team, which is also featuring World Champion Mohammad Asif, lost to Iran 3-0 in Asian Team Tournament underway in Doha, Qatar.

Mohammad Asif has recently been crowned champion of 6-Red Snooker Championship, also held in Doha.

However Pakistan, which has already confirmed its presence in the quarterfinals after beating Kuwait and Hong Kong, showed lacklustre game and lost the tie to Iran 3-0.

Muhammad Asif lost his game to Iranian opponent 58-80 while Hamza Akber lost by 7-68 score. Muhammad Asif and Muhammad Majid Ali lost the third encounter in doubles frame by 7-49 score gifting Iran a convincing 3-0 victory.

Pakistan would now be meeting Afghanistan in quarterfinals on Wednesday night.
